So, I've returned to CAC, this time with my wife's car, her 2008 Chevrolet Impala. I’ve been looking for three years for a mechanic/shop to take care of my wife's car and my pickup. The people I used in Mississippi, before I moved here, retired and closed their shop. Otherwise, I may have traveled just to have my vehicles serviced by them… that’s how loyal I am to good service. Now, I’m pretty sure I’ve found my new “go-to”, Carencro Automotive Center. They treated my wife’s car as if they were doctors treating a human patient. They went over everything they found (there is a checklist of over 80 things they check out on a vehicle). They graciously offered their opinion of what should take priority. And then, if it will take a while, and it did with my wife’s car, they call with periodic status reports - just as if surgery was being performed on a human patient. After three years of neglect, other than standard oil and tire changes (poor practice for a 2008 model sedan), there was a long list and, you guessed it, a rather expensive list. Following their directive, we chose what needed to be done first and, after paying down what we charged on our credit card, we’ll take on the lesser priorities until we reach the point where I used to keep my vehicle properly maintained (and not be so expensive). What really helped was the Car Care Credit Card they offer with 0% financing over time (according to eligibility). I know I sound like some kind of paid advertisement… but I just gotta share our experience.. I cannot say enough about their “above and beyond” work ethic. These guys did more than just routinely doing their job and taking our money. That is, they went above and beyond in their work on my wife’s car! They’ve been around for years, but they act as if they’re a start-up hungry for business - doing what it takes to build your trust and keep your business. Yep, I have found my go-to... Yep… My new go-to has my business for sure… NOTE: The following review for my pickup occurred 3 years ago. After looking for a shop closer to me that provided the kind of service CAC did... and failing to do so... l returned to CAC as described in the preceding review. Google won't let me separate reviews, so I had to do this review like this. (For my 96 Ford Ranger pickup) Their work was good. The staff explained thoroughly what I needed to know. I had piece of mind, that my truck would be able to handle the long distance trip I was preparing for.
